Dorothy Anne, a Texas-based singer-songwriter, has given her latest song “Best Day Ever” a visual treatment, a wonderfully timed infusion of excitement for savoring time with family and friends this season.
Dorothy Anne’s strong vocals lead the sunny, joyful track, which is a song of redemption for the vocalist.
“In terms of the song’s inspiration, I was getting ready to have a significant birthday in 2020, and I was organizing a big celebration.”
“My main hope for gifts was to be surrounded by my closest friends and family,” she explains.
“But then COVID came along and canceled everything.”
The fact that the event had been canceled was especially upsetting because Dorothy Anne had written a song specifically for the occasion.
She’s turning that disappointment around by releasing the song now as a statement of appreciation rather than regret: “‘Best Day Ever’ was created for my most cherished friends and family,” she says.
It’s a song about friendship and all the good times we’ve had together.”
